CHAPTER 127: THE FINAL THREAD
As the grotesque creature claws its way closer, you make a split-second decision. "We need to work together!" you shout, your voice barely penetrating the chaos. The driver looks at you, fear and hope mingling in his eyes. "Grab the wire, and on my count, we pull!"

He nods, his hand reaching for the fraying lifeline. "Ready?" you call out, feeling the wire's tension against your skin. "Three... two... one... PULL!"

Together, you pull with every ounce of strength, the wire groaning under the strain. The creature lets out a guttural roar, its claws scratching at the ledge mere feet away. With renewed adrenaline, you and the driver inch upwards, the beam shaking violently under your combined weight.

Suddenly, the wire snaps with a deafening twang. Your heart skips a beat as the world slows. The driver lurches forward, barely catching the beam with his free hand, while you swing precariously. The abomination lunges, jaws snapping shut just inches from the driver’s dangling boots.

Breathless, both of you cling to the beam, the precipice of doom just below. The beast glares up, its monstrous form readying for another attack. The ground quakes, the structure threatening to collapse under the combined forces of gravity and terror.

This isn't over. Not by a long shot.
All Choices That Were Available:
  • 1. Offer to use your last medkit on the driver to heal him, risking your own health. πŸ˜‡
  • 2. Kick at the driver to make him lose his grip, hoping the distraction will buy you time. 😈
  • 3. Unleash a wild, defiant scream to distract the creature and draw its attention away.
  • 4. Scan the surroundings quickly for a safer path to pull yourselves up.
