THE FINAL STRAW

CHAPTER 121: THE FINAL STRAW
With determination in your eyes, you signal to the truck driver, waving him forward. He nods, understanding your plan, and steers the battered truck towards the teetering structure. The vehicle screeches to a halt at the bridge's edge, the engine rumbling ominously. It's a race against time as you and the driver coordinate to use the truck as a temporary support beam, wedging its bulk against the weakened sections of the bridge.

The survivors seize their chance, scrambling over the makeshift path with desperate speed. Each footfall sends shivers through the fragile structure, but the truck holds, its frame groaning under the strain. One by one, the survivors cross, their faces etched with fear and determination.

But as the last few make their way across, the truck begins to buckle. Its tires sink into the ground, and the bridge creaks ominously. Your heart leaps into your throat as you realize the bridge—and the truck—won't hold for much longer. You sprint towards the vehicle, knowing the risk, but hoping to salvage the plan.

Suddenly, a deafening crack splits the air. The bridge and truck lurch violently, a death rattle echoing through the canyon. The driver shouts a warning, his voice barely audible over the chaos. The bridge is moments away from total collapse, with you stranded in the middle.
All Choices That Were Available:
  • 1. Sacrifice your own escape time to help the truck driver get to safety.
  • 2. Abandon the driver and make a dash for the opposite side.
  • 3. Throw a grenade to destroy the truck, hoping debris creates a new path.
  • 4. Try to call for a helicopter evacuation using your radio.
