CHAPTER 112: ROLLING DESTRUCTION
ROLLING DESTRUCTION
You signal the injured survivor with a quick nod, and they understand instantly what needs to be done. With a mixture of fear and resolve, they wave their arms frantically, drawing the abomination's attention. The creature's furious eyes lock onto them, and with a menacing roar, it charges.
Seizing the opportunity, you dart around the treeline, your steps light but hurried. The adrenaline surges through you, pushing you forward as the ground trembles with the abomination's advance. You reach into your pack, fingers brushing against another grenade. There's no room for mistakes now.
You skid to a halt, finding a vantage point behind a cluster of thick shrubs. The survivor is doing their best to stay out of the abomination's reach, weaving through the trees with a desperate agility. You pull the pin from the grenade, timing your throw with the creature's steps.
The grenade arcs through the air, your aim true. Just as the abomination lunges for the survivor, the explosive lands right at its massive feet. You shout a warning, and the survivor dives to the side just as the explosion thunders through the forest.
A moment of hope, quickly dashed as the smoke clears. The abomination is wounded—severely this time—but it's still not down. It turns, rage and pain in its eyes, now fixed on you. With renewed fury, it charges in a blind rage, and you know there's no time to think—only to act.
